Olympique de Marseille have made no formal move for Adem Zorgane, source says

There are currently no official negotiations between Olympique de Marseille and the representatives of Adem Zorgane, despite growing reports linking the Algeria international with a move to the French club.

According to information reported by Maghreb-Foot, discussions have not been opened at this stage. That clarification suggests Marseille’s interest, if confirmed, remains exploratory rather than evidence of an active transfer operation.

Zorgane’s name has been increasingly associated with Olympique de Marseille during the current transfer window. The 26-year-old midfielder is understood to fit the profile the club is looking for in the centre of the pitch, prompting reports that the French side could consider making an approach.

Those reports have gained further momentum since Union Saint-Gilloise were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds. The Algeria international is said to be open to leaving the Belgian club, although there is no indication that a formal offer has yet been submitted by Olympique de Marseille.

Zorgane joined Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2025 from Charleroi and remains under contract with the Belgian club until 30 June 2029. That long-term agreement means Union Saint-Gilloise are in a strong negotiating position should a club make a significant proposal for the midfielder.

His market value is estimated at 12m euros, while Union Saint-Gilloise are reported to have set an asking price of between 12m and 15m euros. The player’s situation could still change during the transfer window, particularly if an offer reaches the club’s directors that meets their expectations.

For now, however, the available information points to a potential Marseille interest rather than a completed or advanced deal. No formal negotiations are currently taking place between the two clubs or between Olympique de Marseille and Zorgane’s entourage, according to the source cited by Maghreb-Foot.

Olympique de Marseille are also preparing for the opening round of the French championship, when they will face Strasbourg. The match is scheduled to take place soon, with the result marking the beginning of their league campaign.

The betting company 1xBet has listed Olympique de Marseille as favourites for the fixture. Its odds price a Marseille victory at 1.64, while a draw is rated at 4.20 and a Strasbourg win at 4.30.
