Olympique Akbou crash out as JS Kabylie, MC Alger And USM Alger march on in Algerian Cup
The Round of 32 in the 2025–2026 Algerian Cup continued on Thursday with big emotions, surprises, and strong performances.
Olympique Akbou, one of the ambitious Ligue 1 sides this season, were knocked out after a tough 2-0 loss away to AS Khroub. Goals from Benbaâyoud and Hamdaoui ended Akbou’s run, as ASK pushed through with more determination.
Defending champions USM Alger had a dramatic evening at NC Magra. After a tight 0-0 draw, they secured qualification through a 5-4 penalty shootout win. They will host the winner of MO Constantine vs CRB Kaïs in the next round.
JS Kabylie showed no mercy, producing a powerful 7-0 victory over MB Hassi Messaoud. The match was practically decided in the first half, with JSK leading 5-0. The club also celebrated the return of goalkeeper Gaya Merbah, back after more than a year sidelined by a shin injury.
MC Alger also booked their place after a 1-0 win over MC El-Bayadh, thanks to an early goal from Benhaoua. They could not extend their lead later as Ferhat saw his penalty saved by goalkeeper Salhi.
Paradou AC continued their strong form with a 3-0 win over CRB Adrar, marking their fifth straight victory. RC Arbaâ, MC Saïda, ESF Bir El-Ater and WA Boufarik also advanced after solid displays.
The remaining Round of 32 matches continue on Friday, with nine fixtures lined up, including two all–Ligue 1 clashes.
