Olivier Ntcham: Cameroon midfielder and free agent linked with Hull City move

Olivier Ntcham, the Cameroon international currently without a club after leaving Samsunspor, is being linked with a move to Premier League side Hull City.

The 30-year-old central midfielder became a free agent on 1 July 2026 following the end of his spell in Turkey and is viewed as a potential low-cost option, with his market value last updated at around €2m. Hull are assessing midfield reinforcements ahead of the new campaign and Ntcham’s availability without a transfer fee is understood to have placed him on their radar.

Ntcham has amassed significant top-flight experience across Europe, including extended spells in the Scottish Premiership with Celtic, Serie A with Genoa and the Turkish Super Lig with Samsunspor. In Turkey he made 83 league appearances, scoring 14 goals and adding three assists, underlining his ability to contribute in the final third from midfield.

His most successful period came at Celtic, where he was part of a side that dominated domestically and secured multiple Scottish league titles. Before his move to Swansea City in 2021 and then to Samsunspor in 2023, he also featured in European competition, including the Europa League and Champions League qualifiers, adding continental experience to his profile.

Born in Longjumeau and holding both Cameroonian and French nationality, Ntcham stands at 1.80m and operates primarily as a central midfielder, favouring his right foot. With no contract currently in place and pre-season well underway, his future remains open as Hull weigh up whether to turn their interest into a formal offer.
