Oliver Glasner hails Nigerian attacker Christantus Uche after Shelbourne display
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has showered praise on Nigerian attacker Christantus Uche after his standout performance in the Europa Conference League win over Irish side Shelbourne.
Uche opened the scoring for Palace in the 11th minute before turning provider 14 minutes later, setting up Eddie Nketiah for the second goal in a confident attacking display. The 22-year-old had also impressed in the 2-1 Premier League victory over Fulham the previous weekend, strengthening his case for more regular minutes.
Glasner made clear just how highly he rates the loanee from Getafe. “Christantus deserved it. He showed up against Fulham. He showed he can help us, and he can score goals. That is now for him, maybe the starting moment at Crystal Palace,” he told TNT Sports, adding that goals are vital for forwards and that all three attackers scoring should boost their belief.
Uche is currently on loan from Spanish club Getafe and is beginning to make a real impact in England. In the 2025/26 Premier League season so far, he has contributed 3 goals and 2 assists in 10 appearances, underlining why Glasner views him as an important option for Palace’s evolving frontline.
