Marcel Desailly tips Olise for bigger move after Bayern breakthrough

Michael Olise praised Bayern Munich’s mentality and character after their dramatic 4–3 win over Real Madrid sealed a place in the Champions League semi-finals.

Reflecting on the chaotic night, he admitted Bayern always knew Madrid would fight to turn the tie around.

“It was a good match. It was back and forth. We knew they were going to come out and try to come back,” Olise told TNT Sports. He felt Bayern grew stronger as the game settled. “Eventually, when it calmed down, we played a bit better in the second half, and we took our chances. I think we showed good resilience to keep coming back, even though we were going down. In the end, it was a result that we’re happy with.”

Olise also opened up on his decisive strike, revealing it came after several earlier attempts. “I think the game was going our way, maybe it helped a little bit, but the game was still going how it was going. I tried it five or six times before. I was getting closer every time, and the one in the end was nice,” he added, clearly delighted to have made the difference on such a big stage.
