After Lyon’s heavy defeat against Bastia (4-1) during the closing of the 29th edition of Ligue 1, defender Samuel Umtiti expressed his regrets. Umtiti, who has been with Olympique Lyonnais since 2002, acknowledged the team’s shortcomings in the match and emphasized the need to work hard to improve their performance.
“We missed our match from A to Z. However, we spoke well to achieve a result here. On the first goal, we were disorganized. This reflects the match a bit. There are still matches to show what we are capable of. We know we’re not very good, we work well in training. I think it will pay off, we have to work and it will come back,” said Umtiti, who has been part of the French national team’s Espoirs since 2009.
