OGC Nice want Elye Wahi return from Frankfurt

OGC Nice are working to bring Elye Wahi back to the club after his productive loan spell last season.

The 23-year-old striker has reportedly become one of the French side’s main priorities as they search for a new centre-forward before the 2026/27 campaign begins.

Wahi returned to France after difficult periods with Eintracht Frankfurt, Lens and Marseille. The decision proved valuable, as he scored nine goals for Nice and played an important role in their fight to avoid relegation. His goal against Saint-Etienne in the playoff helped secure the club’s Ligue 1 status.

Nice have opened discussions about a possible return but have not yet submitted an official offer to Frankfurt. The German club, which paid Marseille €26 million for Wahi in January 2025, is reportedly open to selling him.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Wahi is also keen on rejoining Nice. The club must first reach an agreement with the player before negotiating the transfer structure with Frankfurt.

A permanent deal and another loan are both possible. If Frankfurt demand €20 million or more, Nice may favour a temporary agreement. The club’s Ligue 1 season begins against Lorient on August 22.
