OGC Nice Sporting Director Florian Maurice has lauded the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Salis Samed, describing him as a player who will inject energy and balance into the squad ahead of the new season.
Salis joins the Ligue 1 side on a three-year deal following his departure from RC Lens.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Sunderland, where he played a key role in the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
Maurice believes the former Clermont Foot player’s experience and style will enhance Nice’s midfield options.
“We were looking for dynamism, impact and good energy in midfield,” he said.
“Salis is a balanced player, with a slightly more defensive profile than his direct competitors.
“He is fully committed on the pitch, has a real personality, and his knowledge of Ligue 1 and his personality will contribute positively to communication and the dynamic in the dressing room,” he added.
Salis is expected to begin his new chapter with Nice on August 16, when Le Gym host Toulouse at the Allianz Riviera in their Ligue 1 opener.
