OGC Nice explore loan move for Elye Wahi

Elye Wahi could leave Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, with OGC Nice reportedly exploring a loan move for the French striker.

The Ligue 1 club are considering an agreement that would include an option to buy, potentially bringing the 23-year-old back to the French Riviera.

Wahi already spent part of last season with Nice and made a strong impression. He scored nine goals in 19 appearances, performances that have encouraged the club to consider re-signing him after his return to Frankfurt.

Nice would reportedly prefer a temporary arrangement because a permanent transfer is currently considered too expensive. Frankfurt, however, would rather sell the forward immediately and avoid carrying his contract into another season.

The striker’s salary is a major obstacle in negotiations. Wahi earns approximately €300,000 per month, a figure that sits outside Nice’s internal financial structure. Any loan agreement would therefore require Frankfurt to make significant concessions, possibly by covering part of his wages.

Wahi’s situation has become increasingly complicated at Eintracht, where he has struggled to establish himself as a central figure. Nice may see an opportunity to secure an in-form attacker at a reduced cost, while Frankfurt must decide whether immediate financial relief or a longer-term sale remains the better solution.
