Eric Bailly will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a serious injury during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday. The Ivorian defender suffered a ligament injury to his right knee, ruling him out for both club and country.
“ We can confirm that Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has suffered a ligament injury to his right knee following Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea. The Ivory Coast international will miss the rest of the season for the Red Devils. Furthermore, Bailly will also be unavailable for the Africa Cup of Nations,” the club announced on their official website on Monday.
The news represents a significant setback for Ivory Coast, who now lose one of their key defensive players ahead of the upcoming continental tournament. Bailly’s absence will be felt both at Manchester United and within the national team, highlighting the impact of his injury on both fronts.
