The ongoing saga surrounding Islam Slimani, the 25-year-old Algerian international, has finally come to an end. Slimani is now officially a player for Sporting Portugal.
Previously with CR Belouzdad and notable as the top scorer in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, Slimani, who had also attracted interest from Nantes, has inked a 4-year contract with the Lusitanian club. The striker, during his press presentation, expressed his commitment to contribute to Sporting’s success, stating, “I am here to help Sporting. In terms of objectives, I do not set a limit for myself… I am coming to be a starter, but it will be up to the technical staff to decide if I am best placed to serve the team.”
As reported by sport365, the transfer deal is valued at 300,000 euros. With this move, Slimani embarks on a new chapter in his career with Sporting Portugal.
