Hany Abo Rida has been approved by the General Assembly to lead the Egyptian Football Federation.
The meeting held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the Al-Hadaf Project saw the assembly approved the budget of last year for the Egyptian Federation. Additionally, the assembly rejected the joining of 61 new clubs.
Meanwhile, Hazem Emam and Mohamed Barakat, who members of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association, boycotted the General Assembly meeting aimed at discussing last year’s budget and also elect a new Board of Directors.
The pair did not attend the Egyptian Federation’s general assembly as the term of the current board of directors headed by Gamal Allam has ended.
The general assembly witnessed the attendance of 113 clubs out of 129 entitled to attend the meeting, at a rate of up to 90%.
The vote will be held to elect the list of Engineer Hani Abu Rida, which officially submitted its candidacy papers and includes Khaled Al-Darandali as a deputy, Ahmed Helmy Al-Sharif, Walid Abdel Gawad, Enas Mazhar, Tarek Abu Al-Enein, Mustafa Abu Zahra, Mohamed Abu Hussein, and Mohamed Al-Sherbiny.
Hossam Ghaly, a member of the Al-Ahly board of directors, and Ahmed Suleiman, a member of the Zamalek board of directors, attended, in addition to Major General Ashraf Nassar, the chairman of Al-Bank Al-Ahly Club, Nasr Abu Al-Hassan, the chairman of Ismaili, Ragab Abdel Qader, the vice chairman of Al-Masry, and Mohamed Ahmed Salama, a member of the Al-Masry board of directors.
