Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of Emmanuel Adebayor, with the former Tottenham striker joining the Premier League club until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old Togolese forward, who turns 32 in February, had been without a club since leaving Spurs by mutual consent in September. After several weeks of negotiations, Adebayor underwent a medical on Tuesday before putting pen to paper at Selhurst Park.
According to reports, the deal includes an option for extension and is worth around **€400,000 per month**.
Palace manager Alan Pardew hopes the experienced striker can help revive his side’s attack. The Eagles have found the net just once in their last five league matches and have slipped to 11th place after a strong start to the campaign.
“Emmanuel brings experience and quality at the highest level,” Pardew said. “He’s hungry to prove himself again and we believe he can make an impact straight away.”
Adebayor has represented some of England’s biggest clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham, scoring over 90 Premier League goals. However, his time at Spurs ended in controversy after falling out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino.
The striker could make his debut as early as **Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against Stoke City**.
Adebayor said he was eager to get back on the pitch:
> “I’m delighted to join Crystal Palace. This is a great opportunity and I can’t wait to show what I can bring to the team.”
For Palace, the move is a calculated gamble — one that could pay off if Adebayor rediscovers the form that once made him one of the Premier League’s most feared forwards.
