Odilon Kossounou, a promising young defender, is set to make headlines after completing a record transfer from Swedish club Hammarby to Belgian side Club Brugge.
The 18-year-old Ivorian has had a rapid rise in his career. Just four months ago, he was playing for ASEC Mimosas in Ivory Coast before moving to Hammarby in January. Now, he is making the leap to Belgium for a transfer fee of €3 million, marking the biggest signing in Hammarby’s history.
Kossounou also becomes the first Ivorian to join Club Brugge. He has signed a four-year contract with the Belgian club, which expects him to develop into a key figure in their defensive line.
This transfer highlights Kossounou’s potential and reflects Club Brugge’s commitment to investing in young talent, while also signaling the defender’s rapid progression from domestic Ivorian football to European competition.
