Oday Dabbagh’s journey to Zamalek began long before his signature sealed the deal.
The 25-year-old Palestinian forward revealed that playing alongside Egyptian icon Shikabala was once a dream. While that wish won’t come true due to the veteran’s retirement, Dabbagh believes he is exactly where he needs to be.
“My goal is to win all the titles with Zamalek. I am happy with the way I was received at the club. The fans sent me many messages, and I know they are hungry for titles. Zamalek was the most serious club in the negotiations, and the deal was concluded in three days.”
Dabbagh pointed to the role of fellow Palestinian players in guiding his move. “Adam Kayed was the first player who spoke to me. I wished to play with Shikabala, and I am sad about his retirement, because he is a great legend.”
Dabbagh will likely make his debut against Ceramica Cleopatra tomorrow.
