Obi Mikel impressed by Chelsea new boy Estevão
Chelsea great John Obi Mikel has shared his view on the club’s new Brazilian attacker Estevão.
Speaking on the obionepodcast, the retired Nigeria Super Eagles midfielder shared that he has been impressed by the performance and style of play of the teenager.
“You can see already in the past few games that he’s very direct. Once he gets the ball, he attacks, he tries to create chances and score goals, and that’s what we need.
“He’s not messing about with the ball. He’s not trying to do flicks here and there. He’s very direct. He wants to score goals. He wants to create chances. He wants to win games for the football club,” John Obi Mikel said.
Estevão, since debuting for Chelsea in the English Premier League at the start of the 2025/26 campaign, has shown his quality and is currently a fan favourite just three matches into the season.
The 18-year-old has been tipped for stardom at Stamford Bridge, with many backing him to become one of the best players in the world in the coming years.
