Obed Nkambadio: three key facts about the Paris FC goalkeeper

Obed Nkambadio has emerged as one of the notable young goalkeepers in French football, with his rapid progress at Paris FC complemented by international experience with France’s youth teams. At 23, he is also considering a future with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

From Epinay-sur-Seine to Paris FC

Born in Paris on 7 February 2003, Nkambadio began playing football at the Epinay-sur-Seine Academy. His potential attracted the attention of Paris FC, which he joined in 2019.

The goalkeeper made another significant step two years later when he signed his first professional contract with the Paris club in 2021. He is under contract with Paris FC until 2027 and is valued at €5m by Transfermarkt.

A key figure in Paris FC’s rise

Nkambadio played an important part in Paris FC’s promotion to Ligue 1, a major achievement in the early stages of his career. His performances at club level also helped him earn recognition from France’s Olympic set-up.

He was part of the France team that won the silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, giving him valuable experience on the international stage.

International future remains open

Because he holds dual nationality, Nkambadio is eligible to represent the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The goalkeeper wants to play for the Leopards, while the Congolese Football Federation is working to complete his arrival in the national team.

His immediate focus remains with Paris FC, who will soon play their sixth match of the French championship against Lorient.
