Obaid Chabbi: Tunisian midfielder joins ES Metlaoui on loan from Stade Tunisien

Tunisian midfielder Obaid Chabbi has joined ES Metlaoui on loan from Ligue 1 rivals Stade Tunisien. The deal takes the central midfielder to Metlaoui for the 2026-27 campaign, with his registration now completed ahead of the new season.

Chabbi moves within Tunisia’s top flight looking to build on his first-team experience in Ligue 1. He has already featured in the division, making three league appearances and playing 182 minutes, and will now continue his development in Metlaoui’s midfield unit. The loan agreement runs until 30 June 2028, when he is scheduled to return to Stade Tunisien at the end of the spell.

Primarily a central midfielder, Chabbi will wear the number 24 shirt for ES Metlaoui and is under contract there until the summer of 2028. His switch strengthens Metlaoui’s options in the middle of the pitch as they prepare for the upcoming domestic campaign.

Before the move, Chabbi was on the books at Stade Tunisien, where he broke into the senior set-up and earned his first minutes in the top tier. He has also featured in cup squads, giving him experience across Tunisian domestic competitions despite limited playing time so far.

Chabbi’s loan transfer from Stade Tunisien to ES Metlaoui is now fully confirmed for the 2026-27 season.
