Nigerian footballer Obafémi Martins has completed a move to the American club Seattle Sounders after buying out his contract with Levante. Martins, who has been in good form in La Liga, expressed a desire to leave Spain. Levante initially resisted letting go of their top scorer, but Martins ultimately bought out his contract for 3 million euros to join Major League Soccer (MLS). Despite his absence from the Nigerian national team for the 2013 CAN, Martins was recalled for the Super Eagles’ upcoming match against Kenya in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
