Nottingham Forest are reportedly preparing a €40 million bid for Como 1907’s rising star, Assane Diao, as they plan for their upcoming UEFA Champions League campaign.
Diao, a 19-year-old winger born in Senegal and raised in Spain, joined Como from Real Betis in January 2025 for a club-record fee of €12 million.
Since his arrival, he has made a significant impact in Serie A, scoring six goals and providing one assist in 14 appearances
His performances have attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, and Newcastle United.
However, Nottingham Forest appear to be leading the race for his signature, with reports suggesting they are ready to offer €40 million for the talented forward.
Como, managed by former Spanish international Cesc Fàbregas, are keen to retain the Senegal international’s services.
The club views him as a crucial part of their project to establish themselves in Serie A and has no immediate plans to sell.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Diao will be closely watched.
The club’s willingness to invest heavily in the young winger underscores their ambition to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to Europe’s elite competition.
