Nottingham Forest move for Ousmane Diomande hits fresh obstacle

Nottingham Forest’s proposed move for Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande has reached an impasse, with significant differences preventing the two clubs from agreeing a deal.

The transfer had appeared to be progressing only a few days ago, but discussions between Sporting CP and the Premier League club have failed to produce an agreement, according to Maisfutebol. The proposed operation was understood to be worth about 40 million euros.

A major change in the relationship between the two clubs would now be required for negotiations to resume during the summer transfer window. Until then, Diomande remains a Sporting CP player.

The uncertainty has already affected the 21-year-old’s preparations for the new season. The Ivory Coast international has not featured in any of Sporting CP’s pre-season friendlies while his future has remained unresolved.

If no fresh agreement is reached, Diomande could return to action for Sporting CP shortly. He is under contract with the Portuguese club until June 2030, meaning Sporting CP remain in a strong position over his future.

The centre-back continues to attract interest from several clubs, but his next move is now uncertain again after the apparent progress in discussions with Nottingham Forest came to a standstill. His estimated market value is 42 million euros.

Diomande earns an annual salary of 3,460,000 euros, equivalent to 2,249,000,000 CFA francs.
