Vadis Odjidja Joins Rotherham United on One-Month Loan
By BBC Sport
Belgian midfielder Vadis Odjidja has joined Championship side Rotherham United on a one-month emergency loan from Norwich City. The short-term deal, permitted under Football League rules, offers the former Club Brugge and Anderlecht player an opportunity to gain regular playing time.
Odjidja, 26, signed with Norwich City last year when the Canaries were still in the Championship but has found minutes limited following the club’s promotion to the Premier League. The loan to Rotherham, who currently sit bottom of the Championship with just one point from their opening five matches, presents a chance for the Belgian international to get back on the pitch and help a struggling side.
“I’m eager to begin this new chapter,” said Odjidja, who brings a wealth of experience to the Millers. Born in Ghent and of Ghanaian descent, Odjidja rose through the youth ranks of La Gantoise and later Anderlecht, where he made his professional debut in 2006. A move to Hamburg followed in 2008 before he truly made his name at FC Bruges between 2009 and 2014.
Rotherham United will be hoping Odjidja’s creativity and experience can help stabilize the team’s form and lift them from the foot of the table.
