Norwich City announce signing of Ghana midfielder Amankwah Forson from Red Bull Salzburg
Norwich City have officially announced the signing of Ghana international midfielder Amankwah Forson from Red Bull Salzburg for an undisclosed fee.
The young midfielder, aged 21, has signed a four-year contract with the English Championship club with the option for an extra year.
Forson began his career in his home country of Ghana with WAFA SC before joining Salzburg in 2021.
During his time in Austria, he also had loan spells at Liefering and Rheindorf Altach.
He will now don the number 18 shirt for Norwich City.
In his statement upon joining the club, Forson expressed his excitement and happiness at the opportunity to play for Norwich.
He also mentioned the positive influence of the head coach, who has a track record of working with young talents.
Sporting director Ben Knapper also praised Forson’s skills and versatility, stating that he will be a valuable addition to the team.
Knapper highlighted Forson’s experience playing in the Champions League and representing Ghana at the senior level.
He believes that Forson will fit in perfectly with the club’s player development system and achieve great things with them.
However, the transfer is still subject to international clearance and approval from the regulatory governing bodies.
