Norwegian outfit Molde have suspended Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga over alleged sexual conduct in the European country.
As confirmed by Molde, the young Nigeria midfielder has been formally charged with alleged sexual conduct without consent, an offence under Section 297 of the Norwegian Penal Code.
Both parties are fully cooperating with authorities since the investigation began. The alleged incident was first reported to the Norwegian police in late April 2025.
However, Daga has been removed from all team-related activities, including training sessions and matches, while legal proceedings are ongoing.
“Daniel has been informed of the charges and has been removed from training and matches for the time being. After the end of the season, Daniel traveled home in connection with the team’s planned vacation. Daniel and the club have agreed that he will return to Norway ahead of the legal proceedings,” the club announced.
The 18-year-old midfielder has made 12 appearances for Molde FK in the Norwegian top-flight, scoring two goals across the period.
