The Executive Office of the North African Football Union, led by Egyptian football administrator Hani Abu Rida, has outlined a packed schedule of competitions and development initiatives following a high-level meeting in Rabat, Morocco.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the confirmation that Tunisia will host the North African Women’s Club Championship, slated to kick off in early September.
The tournament will include the champions of the Egyptian Women’s Premier League.
In addition, the Executive Office approved the organization of the North African U-17 Championship in November.
The competition will serve as a qualifier for the CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. Notably, the Women’s U-20 Championship is also scheduled for the same month.
Egypt will play host to the Schools Championship in December, reinforcing the Union’s commitment to grassroots football development across the region.
Meanwhile, a decision on appointing a new executive director for the North African Football Union has been deferred.
The Union also announced plans to launch a series of workshops across member countries aimed at enhancing the capacities of officials within Arab federations and clubs.
Hani Abu Rida, who currently serves as President of the Egyptian Football Association, took over leadership of the North African Union earlier this year.
