In a spirited push to boost regional football, the North African Football Association has laid out a fresh roadmap following a high-level meeting in Rabat.
Led by Egyptian official Hany Abou Rida, the executive office agreed on several new steps aimed at strengthening youth, women’s, and grassroots football across the region.
Kicking off in early September, Tunisia will host the North African Women’s Club Championship, featuring the top team from Egypt’s Premier League. This will be followed by a busy November, which will see both the Under-17 Championship, a key qualifier for the junior Africa Cup of Nations, and the Women’s Under-20 Championship.
Egypt will welcome young talent again in December for the region’s schools championship, showing the Federation’s strong focus on early development.
Though a decision on a new executive director has been delayed, plans for technical workshops across member nations are already in motion, promising deeper skills and stronger clubs in Arab football.
Hany Abou Rida, now also leading the North African Union, brings fresh momentum from his role as head of the Egyptian Federation.
