Nohan Kenneh: Liberia midfielder joins Maccabi Ahi Nazareth from Tranmere
Liberia midfielder Nohan Kenneh has joined Israeli side Maccabi Ahi Nazareth from Tranmere, completing a move to the Liga Leumit club on 10 July 2026. The 23-year-old defensive midfielder, who also holds English nationality, switches to Nazareth after a year with the League Two side.
Kenneh, a left-footed holding midfielder standing at 1.90m, arrives in Israel with experience across Scottish and English football. He made his name at Hibernian, featuring in the Scottish Premiership and its relegation and play-off phases, before a series of loan spells broadened his experience.
During his time in Scotland and England, Kenneh accumulated regular game time in senior competitions including the Premiership, League One and League Two, as well as domestic cup tournaments. In top-flight Scottish action he contributed goals and assists from midfield, while also appearing in the FA Cup, League Cup and EFL Trophy during his spells south of the border.
Kenneh first moved into senior football with Hibernian after leaving Leeds Uniteds youth set-up, having progressed through Leeds under-18 and under-23 sides and appearing in the Premier League 2 and FA Youth Cup. He then had loan stints at Ross County and Shrewsbury before returning to Hibs and later securing a free transfer to Tranmere in 2025.
With his current market value listed at 250,000, Kenneh now begins a new chapter in Liga Leumit, where he will wear the number 42 shirt for Maccabi Ahi Nazareth following his permanent move from the English club.
