Noel Futkeu joins SV Elversberg from Frankfurt in loan move
German-Cameroonian striker Noel Futkeu has joined SV Elversberg from Frankfurt on loan, adding the 23-year-old centre-forward to the club’s attacking options.
Futkeu’s move was completed on 15 August 2026 and the loan runs until 30 June 2027. He arrives after joining Frankfurt from Greuther Furth in a permanent transfer for €1.3m on 1 July 2026.
The forward made his name as one of the leading scorers in Germany’s second tier during the 2025-26 campaign, finishing the season with 19 goals in the 2. Bundesliga. Across his career in the competition, he has recorded 30 goals and eight assists in 68 appearances.
Futkeu has also produced prolific numbers in the Oberliga Niederrhein, where he scored 30 goals in 32 matches during the 2022-23 season. That campaign earned him a top-goalscorer award, while his 19-goal return in 2025-26 brought the same individual honour again.
Born in Essen, Futkeu began his senior career with Rot-Weiss Essen before moving to 1. FC Koln II in January 2021. He subsequently joined Schwarz-Weiß Essen on a free transfer in July 2022 and scored 30 goals in the Oberliga Niederrhein before switching to Eintracht Frankfurt II the following year.
His move to Greuther Furth in July 2024 was his first transfer involving a fee, with the club paying €250,000 for the striker. After two seasons there, Frankfurt brought him back to the Bundesliga set-up for €1.3m before sending him to Elversberg.
Futkeu is right-footed and stands 1.83m tall. His record across Germany’s professional and regional competitions includes 68 second-tier appearances, 32 Oberliga matches and 27 games in the Regionalliga Sudwest, where he scored 16 times.
The striker is contracted to remain with SV Elversberg until 30 June 2027, when the loan is scheduled to end and he is due to return to Frankfurt.
