Noel Aseko closing in on Frankfurt transfer

Noel Aseko is on the verge of joining Eintracht Frankfurt after talks with Bayern Munich moved into the final stages.

Reports in Germany say the 20-year-old defensive midfielder has already chosen Frankfurt, where he is expected to sign a long-term deal through 2030 with an option for another year.

Aseko is a product of the youth academies of Hertha Zehlendorf and Hertha BSC. On 13 July 2022, he transferred to Bayern Munich’s youth academy. He made his professional debut for Bayern Munich II in a 3-0 Regionalliga win over TSV Rain am Lech on 24 September 2022.

The transfer fee is believed to be between 10 million and 12 million euros, making it a significant deal for a young player still building his top-flight reputation.

Aseko’s decision is said to have been driven by the promise of regular playing time and convincing talks with Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter. Other clubs from England, Spain and Italy were also interested, with AS Roma among the teams monitoring him closely, but Frankfurt appear to have won the race.

That said, some outlets are still cautious and have not confirmed the move as fully complete. They report that negotiations are advanced, but not yet formally finished. For now, an official announcement is still being awaited, although the transfer looks increasingly likely to be sealed soon.
