Noah Mbamba injury doubt for Lorient at Le Mans

Lorient could be without Noah Mbamba when they travel to face Le Mans in Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.

The 21-year-old midfielder has made a strong impression recently, particularly during the victory at Lens and last weekend’s entertaining draw against Toulouse.

Mbamba scored in Lorient’s 2-2 draw with Toulouse, but his availability is now uncertain after suffering a hamstring problem in training. The injury occurred during a demanding challenge on Wednesday, leaving the club waiting for further updates before deciding whether he can play.

“He hurt his hamstring on Wednesday in a committed duel,” Lorient coach Alexandre Dujeux explained to reporters.

Lorient may also be missing forward Aiyegun Tosin, who has been ill during the week. Those possible absences would give Dujeux selection problems as his side prepares for another important league fixture.

The coach wants his players to show greater consistency after Lorient struggled to maintain their level during the second half against Toulouse. “Gain more consistency from one half to the other,” Dujeux said.

Lorient have remained unbeaten away from home this season, drawing 0-0 at Nice before earning a 1-0 win at Lens. They will hope to continue that run, although Mbamba’s potential absence could remove one of their most encouraging recent performers from the squad.
