Noah Atubolu closing in on Eintracht Frankfurt transfer

Noah Atubolu is on the brink of joining Eintracht Frankfurt, with head coach Adi Hutter confirming that the goalkeeper’s transfer is expected to be completed shortly.

The 24-year-old travelled to Frankfurt on Wednesday evening and underwent his medical examination ahead of the proposed move from Freiburg.

Speaking before Saturday’s Bundesliga match against Union Berlin, Hütter said the final paperwork was all that remained. “First of all, the ink is not yet dry. I assume Noah Atubolu will sign the contract during the day. We have brought him in as the number one,” he said.

The comments leave little doubt about Frankfurt’s plans for Atubolu. Rather than arriving simply to provide competition, he is expected to take the starting role once the agreement is formally announced.

Atubolu has established himself as one of Germany’s more promising young goalkeepers during his time at Freiburg. A move to Frankfurt would offer him a new challenge and the chance to become the leading figure between the posts for another Bundesliga club.

The remaining question is whether the deal will be processed quickly enough for him to feature in Frankfurt’s league opener. Hutter could not confirm his availability, but he expects the transfer to be finalised within hours.
