West Ham United have set their sights on Noah Atubolu, SC Freiburg’s standout goalkeeper, as they look to bolster their squad.
The 22-year-old shot-stopper, of Nigerian descent but born in Germany, has caught the attention of the Premier League side, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Atubolu, currently valued at €10 million by Transfermarkt, stepped up as Freiburg’s first-choice keeper this season following Mark Flekken’s move to Brentford FC. Though his early performances drew some scrutiny, the young goalkeeper has since proven his mettle, becoming an indispensable part of the team in Breisgau.
A 15-time U21 German international, Atubolu’s rapid development has made him a coveted target. However, SC Freiburg might not be willing to part ways with their rising star anytime soon, presenting a potential stumbling block for West Ham.
With Atubolu under contract and commanding a hefty market value, the Hammers may need to dig deep to secure the services of one of Germany’s most promising goalkeepers. For now, all eyes are on Freiburg to see how they respond to the growing interest.
