Lamine Yamal’s passion for the game is unmistakable, and it shows every time he is substituted.
The 17-year-old rising star never hides his frustration when leaving the pitch, and now he’s shared exactly why.
“To be honest, no player likes to be replaced,” Yamal admitted. “It’s no different with me. If I have to get out, I sit on the bench and hope that we will score another goal. I think that’s normal because I just want to play.”
With 32 appearances, 11 goals, and 15 assists this season, Yamal has already logged over 2,500 minutes—a remarkable feat for a teenager. But even with those numbers, he always wants more.
“I also want to collect more minutes. I love to stand on the pitch,” he added. “Often when I am replaced, I think that I am not tired and could continue. But if the coach sees it differently, I understand it.”
At just 17, managing his workload is crucial, but Yamal’s hunger to keep going is what makes him one of football’s brightest young talents.
