Kelechi Iheanacho’s agent, Roger Wittman, has refuted claims that the Nigerian striker is set to join Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
In response to widespread speculation, Wittman clarified that no approach has been made by the Cairo-based club for the Sevilla forward.
“There has been no contact from anyone in Egypt regarding the player. The reports are completely false,” Wittman told Spanish outlet AS.
Iheanacho, who joined La Liga side Sevilla on a free transfer last summer, has struggled to find his footing at the club.
The former Leicester City star has yet to register a goal or assist in nine league appearances for the Rojiblancos this season, raising questions about his future.
While reports have linked Al Ahly, the record African champion, to the Nigerian international, Wittman’s statement puts those rumours to rest for now.
Despite his limited impact at Sevilla, Iheanacho remains a player of interest in the transfer market, with potential suitors monitoring his situation as the January window progresses.
