The 17-year-old left-sided attacker, who represents both the United States and Burundi at international level, is the subject of growing speculation after data from Transfermarkt associated him with a switch from MLS side Charlotte FC to the Bundesliga champions. His current market value is listed at €300k, a relatively modest fee that could appeal to Bayern as they continue to target emerging talents from outside Europe’s traditional talent pipelines.
No agreement has been reported and there is no indication of contract dates, meaning any potential deal could involve a transfer fee or, depending on his contractual situation, the possibility of Berchimas becoming a free agent further down the line. The rumour remains just that, with no confirmation from either club.
Berchimas, born on 22 February 2008 and standing at 1.72m, plays primarily as a left winger and is right-footed. He progressed from North Carolina Fusion Youth to the Charlotte FC Academy in 2020 before stepping up to Charlotte’s first team in November 2022. All of his senior club football to date has come in the United States, with MLS and academy competition providing his main platform.
