Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has announced a 20-player squad for the upcoming international friendly against Les Bleues of France on November 30.
The squad features the return of Ashleigh Plumptre, Michelle Alozie, and Rinsola Babajide, among others. However, key players such as captain Rasheedat Ajibade, who is recovering from an injury, and multiple-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year Asisat Oshoala, are notable absentees.
The roster reflects a blend of experience and youth, comprising foreign-based stars and seven players from the Nigeria Women Football League. This combination underscores Madugu’s intent to evaluate the depth of the Super Falcons’ talent pool.
All invited players are expected to fly directly to France, where they will link up with the coaching staff and backroom team.
The high-profile match against France, set to take place at Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers, kicks off at 9:30 PM Nigerian time. The game is anticipated to provide a valuable test for the Super Falcons as they continue to build towards future competitions.
Despite the absence of some star players, the squad’s strength and depth suggest an exciting encounter awaits.
