Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze hails Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey for key support at Fulham
Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze has eulogized his compatriots, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey for playing a major role in helping him settle quickly at Fulham.
His comment stem from his outstanding display against Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League on Saturday.
Fulham made a strong start to the London derby, with Chukwueze creating the early breakthrough after setting up Kenny Tete in the opening minutes.
The pressure continued moments later as Harry Wilson added another, putting Fulham firmly in control during a fierce and energetic encounter.
Reflecting on the match, Chukwueze praised Iwobi and Bassey for their influence both on and off the pitch.
“They push me really hard in training and keep me motivated. We are so proud of the result today. We worked for it on the training pitch. The players gave everything on the field. We had to defend with all our lives. This win is very, very important,” he said after the tightly contested match.
All three Super Eagles stars, Chukwueze, Iwobi, and Bassey, featured prominently in the victory, contributing to a disciplined and determined Fulham performance that earned them a valuable three points in the London derby.
