Former Nigerian international Efe Sodje has urged Nottingham Forest not to stand in the way of Super Eagles defender Ola Aina should Manchester City express interest in signing him.
Aina has been one of Forest’s standout performers this season, playing a pivotal role in both defense and attack.
His versatility has made him a key asset at the City Ground, where the club is currently enjoying an impressive campaign in the Premier League.
However, his performances have reportedly caught the attention of Manchester City, who are seeking a long-term successor to Kyle Walker.
Speaking to Brila FM, Sodje emphasized that a move to the reigning Premier League champions would be a major step in Aina’s career and advised Nottingham Forest to allow the defender to leave if an opportunity arises.
“What City is doing right now is rebuilding,” Sodje said. “If they come for him, he will be the first choice. Let him go.”
With Aina excelling under Nottingham Forest’s setup, the prospect of a transfer to one of England’s top clubs remains an intriguing possibility.
Whether City will formalize their interest remains to be seen, but Sodje believes Aina has the quality to thrive at the highest level.
