Nigerian star Victor Osimhen scores in Galatasaray’s 3-2 win against Sivasspor
Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen, showcased his brilliance once again, scoring a crucial goal in Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Sivasspor on Sunday in the Turkish Super Lig.
The match, part of Round 15, saw Galatasaray strengthen their title bid with a hard-fought win on the road.
Sivasspor opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Garry Rodrigues capitalized on a rebound, smashing the ball into the roof of the net. However, Galatasaray equalized just 11 minutes later through Yunus Akgun. His effort benefited from a goalkeeper’s error, turning a seemingly tame shot into a vital goal.
Right before halftime, Osimhen stepped up to deliver his moment of brilliance. In added time of the first half, the Nigerian striker fired a stunning shot into the top right corner, leaving Sivasspor’s goalkeeper Djordje Nikolic helpless and giving Galatasaray a 2-1 lead.
Galatasaray extended their advantage in the 53rd minute, with Baris Alper Yilmaz calmly finishing off a well-placed pass from Yunus Akgun. Despite a late push by Sivasspor, capped by a 90th-minute goal from Turac Boke, Galatasaray held firm to secure all three points.
Osimhen has been in sensational form this season, tallying seven goals and four assists in just nine league appearances.
His consistent performances underline his value as one of the top talents in the Turkish Super Lig with reports indicating that several clubs are after his signature.
