Nigerian forward Victor Boniface agrees new Bayer Leverkusen deal

Nigeria Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, has reportedly committed his future to Bayer Leverkusen, signing a contract extension that keeps him at the club until 2029.

According to information gathered from Africasoccer.com sources, the Nigerian forward’s salary has at least doubled from his previous €3 million annual wage, making him one of Leverkusen’s top earners.

Despite continued interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and England, Victor Boniface remains content at Leverkusen, with the club reportedly unwilling to consider any offers below €50 million.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old is edging closer to full fitness after a thigh injury sustained during Nigeria’s 2025 AFCON qualifier against Rwanda in November.

Having spent over two months on the sidelines, he was named on the bench in Leverkusen’s 2-1 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.

Manager Xabi Alonso has hinted at Boniface’s potential return to action soon, with a chance that he could feature in the upcoming clash against RB Leipzig this weekend.
