Nigerian forward Kennedy Okpala set to join German outfit Paderborn 07 ahead of winter window

German Bundesliga 2 outfit Paderborn 07 are closing in on a move for Nigerian international Kennedy Okpala ahead of winter window.

The 20-year-old is expected to join Paderborn from German third-division side Waldhof Mannheim following a standout performance in the current season.

Okpala has been in impressive form this season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 17 appearances in the German 3. Liga.

His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, with a hosts of clubs in European expressing interest in the forward. However, Paderborn 07 appears have to won the race for the acquisition of the Okpala.

Paderborn 07 has triggered Okpala’s €550,000 release clause, securing his signature ahead of schedule as they aim to strengthen their attacking options in the 2. Bundesliga. He will officially join the club on 1 January 2026, once the winter window opens.
