England-born forward of Nigerian descent, Josh Maja, has suffered a significant injury blow, sidelining him for several weeks.

This development comes amidst growing speculation about a potential move to Chelsea FC during the January transfer window.

The West Bromwich Albion striker sustained a lower leg injury and is set to undergo surgery, as confirmed by the club on Tuesday, January 14.

This injury not only rules him out of action for the foreseeable future but also effectively puts an end to any chance of a mid-season transfer.

Maja, who is West Brom’s top scorer this season, has been pivotal to the club’s success. His performances had reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea, but with this injury setback, the 24-year-old forward will now shift his focus to recovery.

While a January move is no longer on the cards, Josh Maja will aim to regain full fitness and potentially secure a big-money transfer during the summer window.
