Nigerian forward Christantus Uche faces premature end to Crystal Palace loan
Crystal Palace are reportedly considering ending Christantus Uche’s loan from Getafe earlier than planned this January.
Uche initially joined Palace with high hopes after his impressive performances in Spain, highlighted by four goals and six assists in 33 games, earning him a move that included a €20 million option to buy if he made 10 starts for Palace.
Despite his potential, the Nigerian forward has struggled to settle at Selhurst Park, appearing just five times in all competitions and not yet earning a starting spot, with no goals or assists to his name.
This lack of impact and playing time has led the club to rethink their plans and potentially send him back to Getafe, as reported by Spanish sources.
Uche had shown glimpses of his talent at Getafe earlier in the season before his move, recording a goal and assist in three outings. Palace’s decision is expected to be confirmed soon, as both clubs aim to help Uche regain his momentum.
If the loan ends, Uche could return to familiar territory in Spain, hoping to recapture the form that first caught scouts’ attention.
