Nigeria: Barcelona eye Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman as alternative to Nico Williams

Nigerian sensation Ademola Lookman has agreed to personal terms with Inter Milan amid the strong interest from the Italian Serie A giants.

Inter Milan officials are now negotiating with Atalanta BC on a fee to proceed with the signing of the talented winger.

The 27-year-old, who enjoyed a stellar season with Atalanta BC, scoring 20 goals and registering 7 assists in 40 appearances, has emerged as a top transfer target for Inter.

Despite receiving a more lucrative offer from Napoli worth €5 million per year, Lookman opted for Inter’s €4.5 million annual package, drawn by the club’s long-term project and prestige.

Inter Milan has already submitted an opening bid of €40 million to Atalanta for the talented winger, but the offer was turned down, with Atalanta holding firm on a €50 million valuation.

Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, with intermediaries working to bridge the gap.

Inter are exploring the inclusion of performance-related bonuses to meet Atalanta’s asking price.

Meanwhile, Lookman’s camp is reminding the Bergamo-based club of an earlier promise to allow him to leave should a suitable offer arrive.

Lookman could become a new player of Inter Milan this week if ongoing negotiations advance smoothly.
