Nigeria Frustrated by Resilient Iran in First Half of Group F Clash
The opening 45 minutes between Nigeria and Iran ended without goals, as the Super Eagles dominated possession but struggled to create clear-cut opportunities.
Despite controlling much of the game, Nigeria’s attacks were repeatedly stifled by a disciplined Iranian defense. Victor Moses, Emmanuel Emenike, and Ahmed Musa all tried to break through but were unable to find a breakthrough. Iran, meanwhile, showed tactical intelligence, maintaining a solid shape and limiting Nigeria’s chances in the final third.
For the Super Eagles to open the scoring, they will need to be more incisive and enterprising in the second half. With 45 minutes remaining, Nigeria has time to find the winning goal and follow Ivory Coast’s example by securing all three points.
Stay tuned as we bring you live coverage of the second half.
