Nigeria U-17 women’s head coach Bankole Olowookere has unveiled a 30-player squad for the Flamingos ahead of their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying clash against South Africa.
The team will begin preparations on Sunday at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, as they gear up for the crucial two-legged encounter.
The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, scheduled between March 7-16, will determine Africa’s four representatives for the tournament in Morocco, alongside the host nation.
Nigeria’s Flamingos have been a dominant force in the competition, participating in every edition except for 2018. Their best performances before 2022 saw them reach the quarterfinals in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
As the team intensifies preparations, they will be aiming to secure another World Cup appearance and build on their strong reputation on the global stage.
Although South African will not come easy, Nigeria will be fancied to secure victory.
