Nigeria star Victor Boniface fails AC Milan medicals

Italian giants AC Milan have ended their pursuit of Nigeria international Victor Boniface in the current summer transfer window.

Boniface, who is in the books of German outfit Bayer Leverkusen was poised to join AC Milan in a significant move, but the Italian giants pulled out of the agreement after the forward’s medical tests.

The Serie A giants had agreed a €5m loan fee and €24m buy clause for the acquisition of the Nigeria international forward in the past few days. However, Boniface medical failure has undermined his potential switch this summer.

The Nigerian striker underwent an extensive consultation with the club’s doctors before unfortunate medical failure.

However, the forward has already returned to the German side, while Milan will continue their search for a striker.

AC Milan had turned to Boniface after negotiations with Manchester United and Juventus for strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Dusan Vlahovic hit a snag.

Following a failed move to AC Milan, Boniface will have to focus on Leverkusen in an attempt to make a meaningful impact in the current window.

Boniface was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League during the January transfer window, but the move fell through.

The 24-year-old striker has been in the books of Leverkusen since 2023, with his current contract expected to elapse in summer 2028. Since joining Leverkusen, the Nigeria international has made 61 appearances in all competitions, scoring 32 goals and delivering 12 assists across the period.

Boniface has 14 appearances and scored just a goal for the Nigeria national team since making his debut in October 2023.
