Samuel Chukwueze impresses for AC Milan

Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze made an impressive start to the 2026/27 Serie A season, winning the Man of the Match award as AC Milan secured a 2-1 victory over Torino on Sunday.

Chukwueze was one of Milan’s standout performers, playing a key role in their attacking play and providing the assist for Adrien Rabiot’s second-half goal.

Milan took the lead after Rabiot delivered a well-measured cross into the box, allowing Alphadjo Cissé to finish and put the hosts ahead.

The Rossoneri continued to press for a second goal, and Chukwueze eventually produced the decisive moment. The Nigerian winger delivered an excellent ball towards the far post, where Rabiot arrived to finish and extend Milan’s advantage to 2-0.

Torino refused to give up and pulled a goal back in stoppage time through substitute Ché Adams, setting up a tense finish.

However, Milan managed the closing moments well to protect their lead and claim maximum points from their opening league fixture.

Chukwueze was particularly influential from the right wing-back position, combining his pace and attacking movement with quality deliveries into dangerous areas.

The Nigerian created four chances during the game, more than any other player on the pitch, underlining his influence in Milan’s attacking setup.

His overall performance earned him the Man of the Match award and provided a strong indication of his importance to the team this season.

The victory also gave new head coach Ruben Amorim a winning start to his Serie A tenure, while Chukwueze will hope Sunday’s display marks the beginning of a productive campaign in Italy.
