Peter Rufai, the former Super Eagles goalkeeper who played in the 1994 and 1998 World Cups, suffered a sudden collapse in his office on Monday morning and could not be revived by rescuers.
His brother, Bruce Rufai, has indicated that the grief resulting from the recent death of their mother (78 years old) over the weekend may have contributed to this incident. Peter Rufai was promptly taken to the hospital in an emergency situation. As of Tuesday night, he emerged from a coma, but he continues to be under observation.
