President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu has expressed deep condolences to Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi following the passing of his father, Sunday Ndidi.
The unfortunate incident occurred in Delta State on January 27, 2026, where the retired military officer perished through a fatal crash.
Ndidi’s father was immediately rushed to a hospital in Agbor, Delta State, in a desperate effort to save his life, but was later confirmed dead plunging the family into mourning.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of Sunday Ndidi… I share in the grief of his family… particularly Wilfred Ndidi.” Tinubu said.
He described the late Ndidi as a mentor whose “modest beginnings and honesty” inspired many. The president prayed for comfort and eternal repose.
